SEO Training Methods
SEO training can happen in a few different ways. You can study online using free resources or pay for a formal online course through different organizations. You can convince a senior SEO professional to let you do an apprentice-type assignment and learn through on the job training. You can take a live, on-site class and go through exercises to gain knowledge and classroom experience.
SEO Training Online
Some people do really well with online SEO training. Many online students can watch videos, read text and apply what they've learned to their own sites without guidance or additional assistance. Still others take online courses where they pay for some type of coaching or teaching to augment the videos and written materials. These types of online courses tend to have assignments that are reviewed and critiqued by instructors.
SEO Training Through OJT
I've known a few SEO professionals who managed to harness up with an experienced consultant, and learn directly from her/him while doing search engine optimization tasks in an apprentice situation. I think this is a great way to learn because you gain both experience and confidence at the same time! You get feedback in real time, and you see how to troubleshoot issues with someone who's seen these problems before and takes you through a methodical, step by step troubleshooting process to identify the issue and fix it.
Live SEO Training
Finally, there are folks who may have studied SEO on their own, either by reading SEO blogs, doing online videos and tutorials, but end up requiring someone to go over the processes, strategies and tactics with them in a structured classroom environment. Next to getting some one to mentor you or put you through an apprenticeship, this is probably the best way to learn SEO and gain initial confidence in doing tasks like keyword research, optimizing on-page elements or practicing compiling and analyzing inbound back links to root out problematic links from other domains.
Here at Invenio SEO, you can learn how to do it two ways: online, in a live teaching environment, in real time or face to face in a classroom with an SEO instructor. It's entirely up to you. Either way, you're going to practice doing some keyword research, writing content that Google will highly consider for ranking better and optimizing all the elements of a web page or blog post to get it to show up higher in search results.
